APPROVAL OF PAYMENT TO ARCHITECT FOR ADDITIONAL SERVICES FOR VENICE HIGH SCHOOL AND BOOKER HIGH SCHOOL MASTER PLANNING
Description
After completion of contractual obligations for master planning services for Venice High School (VHS) and Booker High School (BHS), BMK Architects, Inc. was requested by Construction Services staff to perform additional services related to these master plans. Services included redesign of the Small Learning Community concept, redesigning the Performing Arts Theatre concept, adjusting for program changes at VHS, redesigning the Riverview High School prototype to accommodate VHS, and redesigning the BHS master plan to accommodate Orange Avenue remaining in place. These services were not added to the contract by amendment, but were performed in good faith. Funds for this payment are available in the capital budget account.
Recommendation
That BMK Architects, Inc. Invoice #1 dated 10/20/2009, in the amount of $32,845.00, for additional architectural services performed between 3/3/2008 and 12/4/2008 for the master planning of Venice High School and Booker High School be approved as presented.
